The Brain is wired to allow for the breakdown of the “self” to reveal inadequacies. Many find it easy to feel empathy yet the ultimate struggle between the Brain and the Soul is rebuilding the “self” with compassion. It seems the evolution of the Brain to be less instinctual and more concise. Since the Brain interprets reality for the Mind to recognize as its truth, both love and compassion are reactions of circumstance to the Brain and neither fact nor reality.
Ancient Times – Ancient Minds
What You Believe, So Shall it Be
My mother is Catholic. She believes in a narrow pathway with only one way to heaven. My father was Agnostic and considered religion the narrow pathway to self-deprivation. My studies led me to believe the only truth is what your brain believes.
The Soul’s greatest challenge is the brain’s interpretations and the evolution of the Mind. Ancient teachings of inferiority left little room for self-compassion. It is no coincidence that the Mind has evolved to deny the self and is quick to condemn when we are taught to deny thy self (Mathew 16:24-25) and the very definition of the Soul is “a person’s total self.” (Mariam Webster).
Humans and animals have evolved mindsets for survival. Animals follow their instincts and humans rarely trust instincts. This is true for compassion. The inability to show ourselves compassion, kindness, and encouragement is a learned behavior. For the Mind to follow a directive of the Brain’s interpretation with compassion, one must be capable of nurturing the Mind to embrace Mind over matter. The Mind is intrinsic to the Brain and instrumental to the means to an end for the Brain’s interpretation of reality. The Brain recognizes the tangible or that which is seen, heard, felt, or experienced. Whereas, the Soul is intangible, unseen but can be experienced.
A Sequentially Brilliant Placement
Orchestrated by the Soul
Journaling is a tool I used to observe my “self.” By documenting my thoughts closely, I understood my “self” deeply, which is essential in meeting the Soul. If our thoughts define reality and are unique to our interpretations then I needed to understand my thoughts. What triggered my thoughts? For example, If I am blind, were my thoughts triggered by what is heard or felt? This curiosity led me on a 15-month journey and over 88 books covering Qualitative Behaviors, Origins of Religion, and Quantum Physics. After expanding my knowledge in various subjects, broader interpretations of my reality were born with new perspectives and learned behaviors.
I believe my Soul orchestrated the order of the books. Looking back, there appeared to be a deliberate placement for each book and something I could not have pre-orchestrated. I knew no more than the premise of each book having no knowledge of the written content, yet in hindsight, the sequential order of each revealed a continuation of concepts amalgamated into one solid theory: The Soul exists.
Past Life Experience
In 2016 I underwent a Past Life Regression and was made aware of the many lives of my Soul. All Souls bring forth residue from past lives and we must face those grievances to acknowledge and heal the Soul in this life. An unhealed Soul could influence decisions based on past life experiences. This shouldn’t be a stretch to comprehend as we all proceed through life doing much of the same. We make decisions based on what we believe the outcome to be when we should be making decisions based on what we want it to be. If I want a positive outcome then I need to make sure I do not base my decisions around fear and that my Soul has the ability to influence positively. My Soul can communicate with me to the extent of my knowledge so the more I expand my knowledge through reading, the more tools I provide my Soul to communicate. I now have a better understanding of my past decisions and how I can aid my Soul in the future. I highly recommend finding an individual licensed for Past-Life Regressions.
My thoughts demand attention. I cannot shut them off, no matter how hard I try. Everything I know about my world is solely dependent on my Brain’s interpretation of my surroundings. Meditations, mantras, chanting, praying, and the likes, I did it all! But knowing my Brain made decisions based on the reality it created possibly influenced by fear or euphoria was a lot of power for a muscle lodged between my skull.
The Shift
An American physicist Gary Zukov wrote “The Seat of the Soul,” and that book changed my life. Almost immediately into the first chapter, I felt something shift. I can only describe the feeling as an AHA moment – or when you become aware of something you didn’t realize needed your awareness, but now that you are aware, you feel as though you remember something of great importance.
This feeling of remembrance is where I first acknowledged my Soul. Let’s be clear. I knew I had a Soul but never really related to an emotional relationship with my Soul. Better yet, I didn’t feel the need to acknowledge the purpose of my soul. The “Aha” moment signified the importance of acknowledging my Soul. Once I did, everything in my life changed. A humbling fact learned along the way is free will hinders the soul’s purpose.
5 STEPS TO ACKNOWLEDGING YOU HAVE A SOUL
- Became an observer of thoughts
- Journaled thoughts – get to know your ‘self.’
- Understand the laws of the Universe! Become fond of physics
- Read as many books as possible to evolve my Mindset and diminish absolute truth.
- Read the Seat of the Soul
The Brain wants to remain the central hub, so let it be so! The more information you give the brain, the more data it can interpret your surroundings and not feel threatened by the Soul’s existence and influence.
The day I acknowledged my Soul, I immediately became aware my Soul has the power to influence my life’s decisions. But, it will never interfere with my free will. Knowing this is one thing, believing it is another. Since my extensive readings had provided enough information for my Brain to interpret, my Brain had issues with accepting my Soul’s role in my life. The agreement between my Soul and my Brain would only occur if I believed it could occur. I didn’t necessarily need to retrain my brain to have positive thoughts; but open the door for my Soul to influence my Brain positively. Once my Brain accepted the idea that my Soul’s influence was not a threat to its fundamental purpose, the Soul became my Brain’s most reliable resource for interpretation!
Think Positive – Produce Positive Results.
Although there is truth to that statement, positive affirmations only work if you genuinely believe in what you’re affirming is truth.
Get your brain to believe in the Soul and you are well on your way to a harmonious existence of well-being with an uncanny ability to perceive life on a much broader and much grander spectrum.
Be The Constant Observer
To become a constant observer of your thoughts you must learn how to observe yourself.
THE MOON AND YOU
In your Mind’s eye, you see a full moon up against a navy blue sky. Take in as much as you can on the details of the moon. Now, say “hello” silently to yourself. Open your eyes.
Let me remind you your eyes saw nothing, and your ears heard nothing. The visual you experienced is not tangible since your eyes did not look upon an external moon, nor did your ears hear from an external source the word “hello.” Something observed the moon, who or what? Who or what observed “hello?”
This Observer is your”self.” The “self” is the observer of all things manifested by the brain. The Observer and the Mind are synonymous and in their harmonious agreement, the Soul experiences life intentionally.
The Discovery
- The Soul seeks a relationship with the brain – a cooperative agreement with the Mind.
- The Soul is on a journey, and the Soul has intentions and a purpose
- As an observer of our thoughts you can either participate or hinder the intentions of your Soul.
- The brain has its own agenda and the Soul’s intentions may feel like a threat, at first.
- Free-Will hinders the Soul powerless and empowers the brain’s defenses.
The Brain is the influencer in all things that make up realities. Anything that is not the Brain’s manifestation decreases the Brain’s power over its truth and existence. To tell the Brain that it should acknowledge something more powerful (The Soul) and accept the influence over the very thing it creates (thought) feels like genocide to the Brain. For this to occur, one must dilute absolute truth. I had to convince my Brain to trust in an invisible power unknown to everyone but my “self.”
The Soul desires to influence thoughts and will not interfere with Free Will. The Brain often dismisses the Soul as non-existent. To fully understand why the Brain would not need the Soul’s influence, you must first know that the Brain’s motive is to be palpable, tangible, and essential. The dismissal of the Soul’s existence is critical to the Brain’s operandum to know itself. However, the processes of the Brain, those thoughts, visuals, concepts, ideas, and interpretations are impalpable.
The Soul seeks a relationship with the Brain. A cooperative agreement with the Mind. The Soul has intentions and a purpose. As an observer of these things, thoughts can either participate or hinder the Soul’s journey. The Soul’s intentions may feel like a threat, and Free Will empowers the Brain’s defenses.
Observing the invisible agreement between infinite intelligence and learned logic is a form of mastery.
I can attest that I have spent the majority of my life not listening to the influence of my Soul and instead dependent upon my Brain’s interpretations as it established my reality. If there were a shortcut to heaven on earth, the Brain would not draw that conclusion because that path walks alongside the Soul.
The Soul’s existence has nothing to do with the brain’s purpose. The Soul is the brain’s most reliable resource!
Internal Discord
Everything depends on the agreement between the Soul and the Brain, and only your “self” can honestly know if a contract exists.
Derogative thoughts and emotions are indicators of internal discord indicating a lack of harmony between the Brain and the Soul. Stay the course as an Observer and allow the Soul to influence your thoughts. Know the Mind believes the interpretations of the Brain until it experiences the Soul’s influences.
Great responsibility comes with being an observer of thoughts. Allowing the Soul to influence your life means allowing for compassion to self. Although the Brain will dismiss compassion as a farse, the Soul needs compassion to influence thoughts.
Final Thoughts
None of this was easy. I didn’t set out to meet my Soul. It’s not like I knew what would come from my reading. I didn’t even know I had yet to acknowledge my Soul. I discovered and now share the byproduct of the impressions placed upon my brain from hundreds of books. I know what I need to know for my Soul’s journey, and your Soul may need something completely different. Today, I am aware that my brain’s belief as truth will always limit my ability to perceive this world. I also know that with every book I read, the less truth my brain holds. The only way to broaden my perception of life and maintain reverence for all of life was to acknowledge my Soul. The only way my brain would recognize my Soul was as an observer of my thoughts.
That’s all I have to say about that.

Debbie Ford
Debbie Ford believes that we each hold within us a trace of every human characteristic that exists, the capacity for every human emotion. We are born with the ability to express this entire spectrum of characteristics. But, Ford points out, our families and our society send us strong messages about which ones are good and bad. So when certain impulses arise, we deny them instead of confronting them, giving them a healthy voice, then letting them go.

Ervin Laszlo
Ervin László is a Hungarian philosopher of science, systems theorist, integral theorist, originally a classical pianist. He is an advocate of the theory of quantum consciousness.
- What is Reality
- Ervin Laszlo’s tour de force, What is Reality?, is the product of a half-century of deep contemplation and cutting-edge scholarship. Addressing many of the paradoxes that have confounded modern science over the years, it offers nothing less than a new paradigm of reality, one in which the cosmos is a seamless whole, informed by a single, coherent consciousness manifest in us all. Bringing together science, philosophy, and metaphysics, Laszlo takes aim at accepted wisdom, such as the dichotomies of mind and body, spirit and matter, being and nonbeing, to show how we are all part of an infinite cycle of existence unfolding in spacetime and beyond. Augmented by insightful commentary from a dozen scholars and thinkers, along with a foreword by Deepak Chopra and an introduction by Stanislav Grof, What is Reality? offers a fresh and liberating understanding of the meaning and purpose of existence.
- What is Consciousness
- What is consciousness? Conventional thinking tells us it is the images, sensations, thoughts, and feelings produced by the brain. When the neurons in the brain stop firing, consciousness ceases to be. But does it?

- In physicist Stephan Hawking’s brilliant opus, A Brief History Of Time, he presented us with a bold new look at our universe, how it began, and how our old views of physics and tired theories about the creation of the universe were no longer relevant. In other words, Hawking gave us a new look at our world, our universe, and ourselves.
- A Brief History in Time
- The Illustrated Brief History of Time is the story of the ongoing search for the secrets at the heart of time and space. In The Universe in a Nutshell, Stephen Hawking takes us to the cutting edge of theoretical physics, where he seeks to uncover the grail of science –the elusive Theory of Everything that lies at the heart of the cosmos. In his accessible and often playful style, he guides us on his search to uncover the secrets of the universe –from supergravity to supersymmetry, from quantum theory to M theory, from holography to duality. Copious four-color illustrations help clarify this journey into a surreal wonderland where particles, sheets, and strings move in eleven dimensions and where the original cosmic seed from which our universe sprang was a tiny nut.
T. Thomas Troward
Troward was a divisional Judge in Punjab in British-administered India. His avocation was the study of comparative religion.
- The Edinburgh Lectures
- The early “New Age” philosophy of “New Thought”, which was wildly popular at the turn of the 20th century, owes much of its emphasis on the concept of “mind over matter” to the works of Thomas Troward.
- The Creative Process in the Individual
- Without creative powers mankind would still be living in caves, without any new ideas or advancement, so it is important to understand and harness this power. There is no better person to teach us how than Thomas Troward. He was a major pioneer in the New Thought movement, which bridges the gap between the inner world of thoughts and the physical universe.

Thich Nhat Hanh
Thích Nhất Hạnh is a Vietnamese Thiền Buddhist monk, peace activist, and founder of the Plum Village Tradition, historically recognized as the main inspiration for engaged Buddhism.
- The Art of Mindfulness
- In The Art of Mindfulness, one of the most revered Buddhist teachers in the world, Thich Nhat Hanh delivers a life changing practice to overcome our overdriven mind, to let go of preoccupations and multitasking and focus solely on the task at hand. By devoting 100% of our attention 100% of the time on what we are doing in the moment, we can alleviate suffering, fear, and anxiety. With the energy of mindfulness and the capacity of looking deeply, we can find the insights to transform and heal any situation.
- You Are Here
- In this introduction to the practice of presence, the beloved Buddhist teacher provides indispensable insight on the essentials of Buddhist thought and offers a range of simple, everyday practices for cultivating mindfulness. These teachings empower us to witness the wonder of life and transform our suffering, both within us and around us, into compassion, tenderness, and peace – not in some long and hard struggle, but in this very moment. As Thich Nhat Hanh declares, “the energy of mindfulness is the energy of the Buddha, and it can be produced by anybody.” It’s as simple as breathing in and breathing out.
Multiple Authors
- Irreducible Mind: Toward a Psychology for the 21st Century 1st Edition
- Current mainstream opinion in psychology, neuroscience, and philosophy of mind holds that all aspects of human mind and consciousness are generated by physical processes occurring in brains. Views of this sort have dominated recent scholarly publication. The present volume, however, demonstrates empirically that this reductive materialism is not only incomplete but false. The authors systematically marshal evidence for a variety of psychological phenomena that are extremely difficult, and in some cases clearly impossible, to account for in conventional physicalist terms. Topics addressed include phenomena of extreme psychophysical influence, memory, psychological automatisms and secondary personality, near-death experiences and allied phenomena, genius-level creativity, and ‘mystical’ states of consciousness both spontaneous and drug-induced. The authors further show that these rogue phenomena are more readily accommodated by an alternative ‘transmission’ or ‘filter’ theory of mind/brain relations advanced over a century ago by a largely forgotten genius, F. W. H. Myers, and developed further by his friend and colleague William James. This theory, moreover, ratifies the commonsense conception of human beings as causally effective conscious agents, and is fully compatible with leading-edge physics and neuroscience. The book should command the attention of all open-minded persons concerned with the still-unsolved mysteries of the mind.
- The Gnostic Gospels
- Collected here are three gnostic writings from Thomas, Mary, and John. These books that were left out of the New Testament shed light on the life and relationships of Jesus Christ and his friends and family, especially his mother Mary.
Academic credentials undoubtedly lend credibility to literature, but what of those who choose knowledge for the sake of knowing? To suppose concepts less compelling or credible if an author is without a degree presumes knowledge is taught and not gained.
