I read “The Grand Design” two (and a half) times.
The first read left me scratching my head wondering what the hell I just read. The second read, I understood only about 60% and so I made another attempt skimming through the entire book to make sure I understood 100% of the 60% I thought I knew. So there is still about 40% of that book that leaves me in complete amazement but less confused than the first read.
The point is, I read it. I comprehend enough to spark the desire to understand more about the world of physics. I began reading everything physics from Galileo, Newton, Maxwell, Einstein to Hawking and much in between. I took on the opinions of scientists but more importantly, I expanded my fishbowl to better form my opinion on Physics. I do not have an opinion on how to build an engine or why a car runs but I do have an opinion on the laws of physics.
“The Oppressed Fish” is a perfect illustration of how many can form opinions without a basis for the opinion. It’s best to not give an opinion when based on nothing more than what you think. Unless of course what you “think” is based on your research.
That’s all. As you were.
